Provider
These terms summarize use of freetranscriptapi.com and api.freetranscriptapi.com operated by Netchase UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (Berlin). The binding contract terms are the German AGB.
Service
We provide a REST API that returns YouTube captions as JSON on request. We are not affiliated with Google or YouTube. Caption availability, accuracy, and language are not guaranteed. Transcripts may be cached for up to 24 hours.
Plans
- No API key: free tier limited by IP (20/h, 50/h until 19 Sep 2026) and 100,000 shared requests/day.
- Free account: 1,000 one-time credits on signup for testing.
- Paid credits: €1.29 per 1,000 credits, one-time purchase via Stripe; each lot expires 31 days after purchase. One credit is charged per API request, including when no transcript is returned.
Your responsibilities
You must have the right to request and use transcript data, comply with YouTube's terms and applicable law, keep API keys secret, and not abuse rate limits or credits. You may not use the free tier to resell unlimited access.
Liability
Liability is limited as set out in the German AGB. We do not warrant caption content from YouTube or uninterrupted uptime.
Cancellation & withdrawal
Free accounts can be deleted anytime in the dashboard or via [email protected]. Paid credits are one-time purchases (no subscription). Consumers may withdraw within 14 days using the dashboard two-step flow or by email or post.
